Introducing the MergeLife Cellular Automation

MergeLife

I published a paper for the Springer Nature Journal of Genetic Programming and Evolvable machines describing the MergeLife cellular automation algorithm. The paper is Open Access and can be found at this link: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10710-018-9336-1. MergeLife cellular automata are similar to Conway’s Game of Life; however, they are full color and are actually a family of cellular automata. An individual MergeLife CA is represented by a hexadecimal string, such as: 5688-0f6c-6619-8605-d7e4-4074-de2e-96c8. Clicking on this rule will display it using the provided JavaScript viewer.
