Is Second Life still popular?

Is Second Life still popular? You used to hear about it all the time in the news, but I can't even think of the last time I've heard any mention of it. It looks like their website is still up and listing active users in the game.

I think SL has defiantly lost some of its buzz. The media always latches on to the "latest thing". SL is no longer the "latest thing", and they have not made any big technology advancements lately. So they are getting somewhat ignored. But there are still many users, at least any time I login.
