Encog 2.0 for Java has been released and is now available for download. 2.0 added quite a few features! Thankyou to everyone who submitted bug reports and helped with the beta process. Encog 2.0.1 will be the next "bugfix" release, and will only happen if bad enough bugs are reported that I want them fixed before 2.1 is released.

Encog 2.1 is going to be all about performance. I want to improve the speed at which Encog trains and processes networks. But I also want to make the RPROP multithreaded so that it will run considerably faster on multicore machines.

Encog 2.2 will further the performance improvements and add support for grid computing.

I will be focusing mainly on these performance improvements. However, there will be other enhancements that I hope volunteers will be able to complete. These "optional" enhancements will be added to the 2.1 and 2.2 releases are they are ready. I will be posting a list of these enhancements soon. And will hope to get some volunteers to work on them.
