Recipe 3.4: Multi-User Lockable Door question

I'm sorry if this is not the correct forum, but I'm having trouble with the above script I found online.

I replaced your script in a door I purchased with a house. I modified the script to match the door open/close/doorbell files I have in inventory. I have no problem opening or closing the door.

However, the door remains locked to my alternate AV. I've used the "door add" command using the correct format for [name], but she can't open it. I just get the message that the AV is at the door.

Any suggestions?

SL book

I bought your book in SL, the beginner guide to scripting. The "chapters" are just scripts. I thought I was buying something that would explain how to write a script and what the language was. I thought I was buying something that explained all the brackets and why they are on different lines. I thought I was buying something that would actually explain things instead of just handing out a bunch of scripts. Your product in SL is pretty damn worthless for someone who knows nothing about scripting and wanted to by a beginner's guide to learn how. Thanks for nothing.

C# in Second Life

I've used Second Life off and on. I am curious to script in it. I see Mono as an option, and I know Mono is .Net. So how do I deploy a DLL to it. The LSL language looks pretty week. I am curious if I could do some neural network programming there. With the virtual world, it could be good for robotics.

Is it possible to transmit an object property (color for instance, or script) to another object?

Can anyone help with this one-
I am looking for a way to make an objects property (color for instance) be transmitted (by a touch of a button )to a similar object on another avatar (and belongs to him) that is similar in its properties but that color.
Thanks

Using your book in a intro to programming class

Hello Mr. Heaton(and others),

We are using your book in an introduction to programming class taught at our university. This is one of our "distance learning"/internet based classes. Most of the students are local students to our university, however.

The class will be taught entirely in the Second Life universe. It is designed for students that have no previous programming knowledge. The idea is that they would be able to then continue to more advanced languages in our department, such as C, C++ or Java.

Second Life Ferris Wheel!!!

I bought both SL books yesterday... With HIGH hopes that the ferris wheel stuff would be in there... Much to my disappointment, not one single mention of the ferris wheel...

Is there some way I can get these scripts from you? I'm very much in need of these, and there's hardly any resources around the net, or in-world on how to achieve exactly what you've done.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You can email me directly as I may not be able to check this thread as often as I'd like...

thankyou!

I just finished reading the into to LSL book and am now on to the recipes book. They have really helped me to create scripted objects of my own.

I do have a question, now that I am starting to create some marketable items. How do you suggest selling them? I've heard people mention SL Exchange and something else called SLEX. Are these worthwhile, or is it better to sell in game? Which of these two do you prefer?
