Encog Trademarks

Encog is a trademark. As a result, we do place some restrictions on how you use the word “Encog”. Primarily we seek to prevent others from appearing as the “official” provider of Encog products and services. You can read more about the proper use of the Encog trademark here.

Encog Framework

The Encog framework is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The Apache license is very similar to the LGPL license. Specifically, it allows you to:

  • Use Encog in any commercial or non-commercial program royalty free
  • Modify Encog to meet your programs needs
  • You are encouraged to contribute these modifications to the Encog project, but are not required to do so.
