Summary

Tileable textures are very useful in Second Life. A tileable texture is a texture that can be repeated over a prim in a grid type fashion. There should be no visible seams between the texture elements. To eliminate seams, special techniques can be employed using Photoshop.

Chapters 2 and 3 focused on using Adobe Photoshop as the image editor. However, Photoshop is not the only image editor that can be used with Second Life. The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a free image editor. The next chapter will explain how to use GIMP to perform many of the tasks explained in Chapters 2 and 3.
