Using Tileable Textures in Second Life

    When a texture is first selected in Second Life, there are no repeats. Therefore, a tileable texture will simply expand to the size of the prim. As a result, there will be only one tile, as shown in Figure 3.9.

    To select the repeats for a prim, right click and select “Edit” for the prim. Select the “Texture” tab. Here you will see “Repeats Per Face,” which requires both horizontal and vertical values. For this example, a value of five was entered for both horizontal and vertical, as shown in Figure 3.10.

    Once the repeat value has been changed, the image appears as shown in Figure 3.11.

    As you can see, the individual bricks are smaller, but they cover the entire prim.
