Choosing the floppy drive is more of a matter of choosing if you want to have a floppy drive. Floppy drives generally sell for as little as $10(USD). Nearly all motherboards provide support for a floppy.

It is possible and becoming more common, to build a computer system without a floppy drive. I only keep a floppy drive on one of my computers, since I so rarely use floppy disks anymore.
